What I set up for theatre schools

I build it myselfWe test it together
Amin

I'm Amin. I live in Amsterdam, I come from tech, and I build these tools myself. For over four years I have run my own language platform, DailyNata, and I built its sign-ups, payments and reports.

  1. 1We go through it together, at your school in Amsterdam or on a short call.
  2. 2You get a fixed price in writing before I build anything.
  3. 3I build it, we test it with real bookings, and every account stays in your name.

Students coming back

The next block starts in two weeks. You are still waiting to hear from some students, and the questions about dates and paying arrive one at a time on WhatsApp.

You still place every student. After that, the rest runs itself.

  • Each student gets a personal link with their next group, dates and price.
  • They confirm and pay there, with the payment options you already offer.
  • One screen shows who is back and who to nudge.

New students signing up

Someone asks on Sunday evening which course fits their level. By the time you answer on Tuesday, they have signed up somewhere else.

We make it easy to say yes at the moment people are ready.

  • Routine questions get a ready reply that you approve with one tap.
  • People sign up and pay online in a few clicks.
  • When a course is full, people join a waiting list and hear when a place opens.

"Hi, I did a year of drama at school. Is Beginners too easy for me, and when does the next one start?"

Suggested replyThanks for asking. With a year of drama, Beginners is a good start and we move you up if it is too easy. The next Beginners starts Tuesday 3 November, 8 lessons, €160. You can sign up here: [link]

Payments and numbers in one place

Sign-ups in a form, payments in the bank, show tickets in a third place. To know how a course is doing, you open all three.

I connect the tools you have, so the numbers come to you.

  • One screen per course with sign-ups, payments and show tickets, and it updates itself.
  • What a course really costs at different group sizes, so you can decide the price.
  • A plan for the summer, including when the autumn courses go on sale.

How it works

After we go through it, you get a proposal with a fixed price, before you decide anything. It depends on how much there is to build and on what you already have in place. I build it myself, we test it together as it takes shape, and I keep working until it runs the way we agreed.

A first step, for example: the follow-up link for one block, set up and tested with your students. Every account stays in your name, and afterwards you run it without me. If something breaks in the first month after handover, I fix it as part of the price. When it is finished, you get a short guide in plain words on how it works. If you prefer to be shown, I walk you and whoever helps you through it, in person or on a call.

We work in English, and what I build is in your language.

We sat down and Amin walked me through the ways we could automate our admin. He knows the technology well and answered all my questions.

Would you like to go through it together?

Reply to my email, or write to amin@onwardsteps.com. In Amsterdam I come by your school, and anywhere else we talk on a short call. The first conversation costs nothing.
